The Grommet Tail Extension
The Grommet Tail Extension was developed for it's ease of attachment and natural look. Use
it to add length and fullness to your horse's tail. Legal for breed association shows requiring
a hair-on-hair method of attachment. As with all of our extensions, the The Grommet is made
from 100% non-dyed horse tail hair using the wig-making technique of tying each individual
hair into the material matrix (NO GLUE!)

This extension is attached at any point along the tail bone with 4 small braids. Simply use the
included hook tool to pull tail hair through the grommet holes and make your braids. Full
attachment instructions with pictures included.

ATTACHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
Comb tail hair thoroughly

This extension really stays in place (see pictures below). After getting his extension in, this
horse decided to roll (
not recommended!), run around a while and buck.  It works well with
horses who use their tail a lot, especially in timed events such as Barrel Racing. Of course,
it's a fantastic extension for Halter and Pleasure classes.

1. Determine location on tail bone where
extension will be attached. Create a
horizontal part (from left to right) and clip
upper tail hair out of the way with a hair
clip.
2. Pull upper two layers of extension hair
up out of the way, exposing the top two
grommets. Clip upper extension hair up out
the way with the upper tail hair.
3. Using the supplied hook tool, insert the
hook through the grommet, catching a
section of tail hair from beneath the
extension. Pull this section forward through
the grommet. Repeat several times, pulling
as much hair as possible through the
grommet.
4. Divide the tail hair pulled through the
grommet in half. Use the left half of hair to
create a short, tight braid, incorporating a
section of hair from the extension (just to
the left of the grommet) and a section of tail
hair from around the back of the tail. Secure
with a braid binder (rubber band).
5. Repeat with the grommet on the right,
using the right half of the hair pulled through
the grommet to create the braid.
6. Next, combine the left-over sections of 6.
Next, combine the left-over sections of
extension hair from between the grommets
hair from the grommets with a section of to
create a center braid. At this point, all three
braids can be pulled together toward the
center and secured together with a braid
binder.
7. Pull next few sections of extension hair up
out of the way to expose the third grommet.
Clip upper extension hair up out of the way.
Use the hook tool to pull tail hair from
behind the extension forward through the
grommet.
8. Pull section of hair from behind the tail
bone  around the edges of the extension
and toward the center grommet to create
one braid.
Remove hair clips. Blend hair with brush.
